\"Liam<\/p>\n

Major:<\/strong> Environmental science<\/a>, earth system science track<\/a><\/p>\n

Clark Days:<\/strong> Liam departed his hometown of Sterling Heights, Michigan, for a lacrosse prospect camp at Amherst College when Coach Jeff Cohen recruited him for Clark\u2019s team. He wanted to find a university that could challenge him with a liberal arts academic program and improve his lacrosse skills. Clark provided the right balance. Liam was able to combine his passions for sports and the environment for a class paper, writing about the ways climate change will impact sports venues such as Hard Rock Stadium, the home of the Miami Dolphins, which faces threats like sea level rise and powerful hurricanes. Liam, whose favorite courses were Hydro Climatology, Terrestrial Ecosystems, and Emerging Issues in Climate Change, has been a part of DECA and the Clark Undergraduate Geography Association.<\/p>\n

Post-Commencement Plans:<\/strong> Liam will begin a master\u2019s program in biogeosciences at McMaster University\u2019s School of Earth, Environment & Society<\/a>, where he will study with one of Professor Chris Williams\u2019 academic colleagues, Altaf Arain. After getting his master\u2019s, Liam may consider pursuing a Ph.D., working for the government, or becoming a professor.<\/p>\n

Observation:<\/strong> \u201cWorcester reminds me of home a little bit. Like Detroit, it\u2019s a culture-filled city that\u2019s on the rise. There are a lot of interesting people in Worcester, and Polar Park was a cool addition. Worcester isn\u2019t cookie-cutter.
