Major:<\/strong> Biology<\/a>, with minor in biochemistry and molecular biology<\/a><\/p>\n

Clark Days:<\/strong> In her four years at Clark, Ally found plenty of research opportunities both in and outside the classroom. Starting her sophomore year, she began interning with Charles River Laboratory, conducting pharmacokinetics testing to determine what happens as drugs travel through the body. For two semesters, she worked in the research laboratory of Donald Spratt<\/a>, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry. And through Project Onramp<\/a>, a program for underrepresented students in the sciences, she landed a summer research internship with Pfizer, one of the world\u2019s top biopharmaceutical companies. They liked her so much they asked her to work part-time as she was finishing her degree this spring, then offered her a full-time job after graduation.<\/p>\n

Post-Commencement Plans:<\/strong> In January, Ally started at Pfizer as a bench scientist in the immunogenicity group in biomedicine design, where she had interned. One of her many job perks: The company pays for employees to pursue graduate degrees in the field. Ally is considering taking advantage of that benefit \u2014 or she might apply to medical school.<\/p>\n

Observation:<\/strong> \u201cI think I grew up a lot at Clark. I met what I hope to be lifelong friends, and I found professors like Dr. Spratt, who guided me in getting the Pfizer job and with what I want to do in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
