Pacifique Madibi is a graduate student at Clark University, currently pursuing a master’s degree in geographic information science (GIS). Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), he also serves as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Kinshasa, where he supports GIS instruction and assists students in developing technical skills. Prior to his graduate studies, Pacifique worked for six years as the Country GIS Officer at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) – DRC program. In this role, he contributed to the climate change and forest programs by conducting GIS analysis for WCS’s Central African priority areas. His work played a key role in informing conservation strategies. Through this experience, Pacifique gained extensive expertise in spatial data analysis, mapping, and conservation planning, which further strengthened his commitment to applying GIS for sustainable development and conservation efforts.
