Whether they\u2019re unlocking computer lab doors early in the morning or closing up late at night, tutoring peers in courses and assisting faculty, or promoting school events, School of Business student employees continue to work with dedication and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI hope our student employees understand the impact and importance of their contributions to School of Business,\u201d said Assistant Dean, Laura Burgess, who employs around 20 graduate assistants for positions in the School of Business Student Services office. \u201cThere is no \u2018small job\u2019 that our students complete. Much of it is critical work that our staff and faculty might otherwise not be able to accomplish. We rely on our students a great deal and they have been tremendous this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As a way to honor student employees and bring attention to their work throughout the year, School of Business awards a Student Employee of the Month honor. Supervisors nominate a student(s) who has gone above and beyond to help them or the larger Clark community. The selected student receives a certificate, is recognized in School of Business, and receives $100 towards a professional development activity of their choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We caught up with three School of Business students who were selected during the 2021 academic year to hear more about their jobs and what they\u2019ve learned in their positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>September 2020<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/school-of-business\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/Student_Xinyu-Liu-.jpg\" alt=\"Xinyu Liu\" class=\"wp-image-1622\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Name<\/strong>: Xinyu Liu<br><strong>Home<\/strong> <strong>Country<\/strong>: China<br><strong>Degree program<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/academics\/graduate\/programs\/masters\/accounting\/\">Masters in Accounting<\/a>, \u201821<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is your position and what you do?<\/strong> \u201cI work for Professor Inshik Seol, assisting with his class preparation report, grading homework for classes, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you enjoy about your work?<\/strong> &nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cI am very grateful to have the opportunity to be a teaching assistant, so that I can help professor Seol and, in turn, help students. It makes me feel very happy. I also work for Professor David Tang. I help him with grading homework and exams, as well as conducting one-on-one meetings with students if they have any questions about the coursework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you enjoy most about your job?<\/strong>&nbsp;I really enjoy designing and creating interactive newsletter content, as it is one of my hobbies, and I enjoy promoting the student. Working for professor Tang is enjoyable, too, particularly being able to help other students when they have questions about the coursework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWorking as GA is truly a rewarding experience \u2013 I get to connect and network with field experts and improve my time management skills. I set up the livestream and teleconferencing logistics, as well as planned, designed, and executed the technical implementation to enable remote participation of judges and students. I also broadcasted the in-person and online components in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you enjoy about your work?<\/strong> &nbsp;&nbsp;I enjoy having the opportunity to apply technology
