Clark University cited by Kiplinger's as top-50 'Best Value'

Clark stands at No. 36 on the “Best Values” list, which Kiplinger’s selects from data collected on more than 600 private institutions. Also included in the top 100 list this year are Princeton (No. 1), Stanford (No. 12), Tufts (No. 27), and Boston University (No. 49).

The annual Kiplinger 100 rankings are published in the December 2010 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, on newsstands Nov. 9.

Clark has consistently appeared on Kiplinger’s “Best Values” list, which is selected from a pool of private institutions provided by Peterson’s, an education content provider and publisher. Schools on the Kiplinger list were ranked by academic quality and affordability—with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total. Because liberal arts colleges focus on undergraduates and universities include graduate students, Kiplinger's divides the schools into two categories. The ranking process factors in both the data and the results of Kiplinger’s reporting.

Earlier this year, Clark also appeared among the top 50 schools named by U.S. News in the “Great Schools, Great Prices” category of its 2011 edition of “America’s Best Colleges.”

Since its founding in 1887, Clark University in Worcester, Mass., has a history of challenging convention. As an innovative liberal arts college and research university, Clark’s world-class faculty lead a community of creative thinkers and passionate doers and offer a range of expertise, particularly in the areas of psychology, geography, urban education, Holocaust and genocide studies, environmental studies, and international development and social change. Clark’s students, faculty and alumni embody the Clark motto: Challenge convention. Change our world.
