| Indonesian Diary | ||
| Intro | This diary will be an account of my time and travels in Indonesia. I will try to keep it up to date regularly, and to keep it interesting for friends and family. Please let me know if you have any questions about my stay and travels. (For the time being, use my regular Clark e-mail address.) | |
| Background | First a little bit about the circumstances
under which I am going. I have been awarded a Fulbright
Lecture/Research position at the Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta
(aka UNS). This appointment at UNS will begin on or about 1
September, 2001. (The research portion of the award is a project
on housing finance in Indonesia.) Until that time I will be living in Yogyakarta,
studying the Indonesian language. During the time in Yogya I will
be staying with an American family and (hopefully) will be reporting
from there. As I write this (Aug. 2) it is all in the future so I
won't say anything more.
My departure for Indonesia is August 8, 2001. |
