This paper investigates the purchasing operations of a computer assets demanufacturing facility. The facility, America's Material Recovery Operation, owned by Digital Corporation, has gone through an evolution from a cost center to a profit center. The roles and responsibilities of "Account" Managers include those that may be carried out by purchasing or sales personal. Many of the issues faced by Digital and the Account Managers are detailed in this case study paper.
