Arrival Information

First-year and Transfer Students

Residence halls will open for first-year and transfer students at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 Students moving in on that date should enter the campus via Woodland Street from Main Street. Once on Woodland Street, University staff will direct you based on your residence hall, so please have your housing information handy. When you reach your hall, Clark students and staff will help unload your belongings; you can then park in the garage. At your residence hall, upperclass students from orientation and residential staffs will welcome you, give you your room key and help you get acclimated.

Live 500+ miles from campus?

First-year students who live 500 or more miles from Clark, and who are not coming for a pre-orientation program, may request permission to arrive on campus a day early (Wednesday, August 22, 2018). To do so, please complete the Early Arrival Request form on your Housing and Dining Self-Service page by August 1. Requests received after August 1 will result in a $50 late application fee.

Residence halls will open at noon on August 22 for students who have received permission to move in early. Please pick up your key at the Residential Life and Housing Office, located at 142 Woodland Street.  If you need ot arrive after 5:00pm, please coordinate with Residential Life & Housing so your key and ID Card can be availalbe at University Police.

Participating in an early orientation program?

If you are participating in an early orientation program (Connections, ACE, International Orientation, etc.), you should contact your program directly to determine your arrival time.

For students who like to plan ahead: Residence halls close at noon on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, for winter break, and reopen for the spring semester at noon on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Students needing to leave after December 19th , or arrive before January 13, may request extensions to their contract for up to 72 hours. The fee is $25 per day, if requested more than two weeks in advance; that rate increases if you wait longer (see your housing contract for details). Residence halls close at noon on May 18, 2019 for summer break.
