Undergraduate Students
Week One Orientation
The Week One 2006 Program is designed to help you through your transition to college life. During this time, you will meet classmates, faculty and peer advisors, deans and directors of student services, the residential staff and many others in the Clark community.

Orientation - Week One

After check-in, you and your family may join us for a welcome from the President, the Dean of the College, the Dean of Students and the Student Council President. Students will then begin orientation activities, including photo I.D. sessions and a dinner for new students. Your parents are invited to attend a Parents Program about Clark, which is a series of sessions addressing many questions related to Clark and what to expect during the first year. During this first day, you will meet your peer advisor and peer group of classmates. Peer advisors are trained to guide you in selecting courses and introducing you campus life.

Peer advisors do not disappear after one week—they will follow up with you during the semester to see how you are doing and will be available to help you select courses for the spring. The next two days are filled with meetings with your faculty advisor, peer advisor and peer group to discuss academic challenges and opportunities and course selection. Then you are ready to choose and register for your courses. Additionally, Faculty Forums will introduce you to Clark's academic life with professors leading stimulating discussions related to your summer reading Mountains Beyond Mountains : The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a Man Who Would Cure the World by Tracy Kidder.

Every person you meet will give you a better idea of the richness and diversity of the Clark community. By participating fully in the Week One programs, you will discover the exciting options waiting for you at Clark.
