We all need to live somewhere, but where and how we build makes a big difference. "Smart growth" is the term for a set of principles and best bractices that guide the development and decisions of enlightened cities and states. Less pavement for more aquifer recharge; denser population for more green space; smalller lawns for less runoff of fertizilers, pesticides and herbicides; "green construction" and renewable energy: Smart growth is beautiful!!

Good planning leaves natural places and natural corridors between natural places so a variety of native plants and animals can live among us. The Tatnuck Brook watershed is home or migratory stopping point for a wide variety of wildlife, including deer, beaver, raccoons, fox, wild turkeys, several species of hawks, and many kinds of songbirds and waterfowl.
