Vision  Statement:

...We envision a watershed       community cooperating to keep their lakes, streams, green spaces, atmosphere and aquifer clear and clean, inspiring to humans and hospitable to a rich ecosystem of native plants and animals.

Location:

...The Tatnuck Brook Watershed is located in Central Massachusetts, intersecting four towns and forming one of the major headwaters of the Blackstone River. The northern end of the Tatnuck Brook Watershed is comprised mainly of forested land, which serves to protect the Holden Reservoirs, a source of drinking water for citizens in the area. The map on the left shows land cover becoming increasingly urbanized as the watershed approaches the city of Worcester.

                      Then                                              Now

The photo on the left shows the Coes factory as it stood in 1871. The factory has since been demolished and the property abandoned. Today local community groups, such as TBWA, and the Worcester Land Trust are concerned with restoring and preserving  the Coes reservior. Current projects include the Coes Dam Restoration Project, which entails removing the remnants of the old dam and creating a new spillway.

Watershed definition:   The specific land area that drains water into a river system or other body of water.
