Names/Pseudonyms: Meghan O'Rourke a.k.a. Meg, Megz, Leggo My Meggo, Ring Master Meggo
Show name: the [ [ Art Factory ] ] hour
Description: This is the show that will be like candy for your ears. Packed with punchy bass-lines, jazzy guitar riffs and so much electronic craziness you're gonna think someone attached jumper cables to your ears and took you on a rollercoaster through a black hole of sound. (Yeah, try imagining that.) Ingredients are as follows: Lotsa electronica, an egregious amount of indie rock, sprinkles of organ-crazy jazzy rock, a pinch of catchy 90's pop, with a rich hidden seasoning of Middle Eastern, Eastern European, Arabic and Indian flavors.
Interests: Listening to music at all hours of the day for any given mood, Filmmaking, drawing (but pronouncing it like “drawring”), painting, photography, 60's furniture, old cars, jamming
Skills: I'm pretty good at finding less-mainstream, not as often heard, catchy music that will most likely make you wanna get up and dance, as well as music from any time period or for certain moods/occasions. My skills also include being exceptionally pun-y when the time is right (and it usually never is), creating atmospheric spaces (hint: it's all in the lighting), talking in different accents (esp. the Boston accent thanks to my family) and making kick-ass posters for the Film Society.
First Record: Hmm. The first cassette tape I ever remember owning was a book reading/sing-along tape of the Lion King, but as far as I can remember “Come Together” by The Beatles definitely started the beginnings of my love of music and played continuously throughout my childhood.
Why WE rock you (we love puns): I don't think you'll officially be able to consider yourself “rocked” until you've heard what I have in store for you.
Things we shall not mention: the unmentionables – then again, those most certainly won't be off limits for my guests (see if you can catch that pun) Ow!
