Residence Hall Association - Executive Board Descriptions
Executive
Board Position Descriptions
Chairperson
- Facilitates RHA Meetings
- Holds E-Board and general members
accountable
- Serves as the tie-breaking vote
- Creates agendas for all RHA
Meetings (E-Board, Full House, Big House, etc.)
- Spokesperson for RHA to other
clubs, offices, and facets of campus
- Sets example for all RHA members
- Serves as the Chair of the
Advocacy committee
- Responsible for holding a set-hour
amount of weekly Office hours
- Cannot be an RA
Director of Operations
- Is a voting member of the RHA
E-Board
- Works in recruiting new members
- Works to retain current members
- Facilitates RHA and HC elections
- Serves as the technical
coordinator (includes updating an facilitating RHA website, E-Board listserve,
organization listserve, and RHA email account)
- Serves as publication coordinator
- Public relations
- Responsible for holding a set-hour
amount of weekly Office hours
Director of Finance
- Is a voting member of the RHA
E-Board
- Is responsible for maintaining,
processing and executing business and financial affairs for RHA
- Produces financial reports, keeps
budget updated, and all other financial paperwork
- Processes co-sponsorship requests
and HC requests in a timely fashion
- Shall give a financial report to
RHA on a timeline established by RHA E-Board
- Responsible for holding a set-hour
amount of weekly Office hours
- Cannot be an RA
Directors of Programming
- Is a voting member of the RHA
E-Board
- Chairs the Programming Committee
- Is responsible for the planning
and execution of all programs, on-campus fundraisers, and events put on or
co-sponsored by RHA, including filing paperwork with the Office of Student
Activities.
- Assists in making publicity for
upcoming programs and coming up with slogans
- Coordinates, monitors, and
evaluates the various RHA events and assists with the planning and execution
of HC events
- Creates and maintains a
programming resource binder that includes publicity, a description, and
evaluation of all RHA and HC programs
- Responsible for holding a set-hour
amount of weekly Office hours
Director of Administration
- Is a voting member of the RHA
E-Board
- Takes minutes at all RHA meetings
and makes them accessible to RHA members
- Responsible for receiving and
keeping track of all HC minutes and programming publicity
- Responsible for posting minutes to
the public via website and emails for HCs and RHA
- Responsible for sending
updates/reminders for upcoming meetings, programs, events, committee meetings,
and conferences
- Keeps track of membership lists
- Keeps records and history of RHA
- Responsible for maintaining office
space
- Maintains the office RHA timeline
- Public Relations Assistant
- Responsible for holding a set-hour
amount of weekly Office hours
National Communication Coordinator
- Is a voting member of the RHA
E-Board
- Chairs all conference delegations
- Represents Clark University in
business meetings at Subregional Meetings, Regional Conferences, National
Conferences, and Regional listserves
- Represents NACURH and NEACURH at
RHA Meetings
- Responsible for promoting
recognition of students and organizations on campus through OTMs, bids, and on
campus awards
- Adheres to the NCC duties as set
forth in the NACURH policy book
- Coordinates the bid process
- Coordinates all fundraising
efforts throughout the year
- Publishes the quarterly
Resident Read newsletter with information about HC meetings, upcoming RHA
events, and NEACURH
- Responsible for holding a set-hour
amount of weekly Office hours
NEACURH Regional Board of Directors – positions held
by Clark Students
- Holds an ex-officio position on
the RHA E-Board
- Responsible for attending E-Board,
RHA Full House and other meetings as decided by the RHA E-Board
- Helps with fundraising and
programming efforts
- Fulfills their NEACURH RBD
position in accordance with NEACURH policy book
- Responsible for holding a set-hour
amount of weekly Office hours
RHA Advisor
- The Advisor position is served by
the Assistant Director of Residence Life and Housing
- Attends all RHA E-Board meetings,
and a majority of other RHA meetings, as stipulated by the current RHA E-Board
- Attends a majority of RHA
campus-wide programs
- Voices RHA and student concerns to
the Office of Residence Life professional and paraprofessional staff, and
Student Affairs staff
- Serves as the professional staff
member of RHA in matters which students are incapable of handling
- Participates on the NEACURH
Advisor’s listserve
- Attends NEACURH and NACURH
conferences with Clark delegations, participates in Advisors’ Programming and
all conference activities, helps with fundraising to attend
- Holds one-on-one meetings with
E-Board
