About our club
Our mission - Outing Club official mission statement "The Clark University Outing Club is an organization for students to experience and integrate nature into their lives at Clark. We strive to make the outdoors accessible to all students through a wide spectrum of outings and activities regardless of past experience or ability level, and to promote outdoor education, skill sharing, and networking among our members. We value the contribution of time spent in the outdoors to one's physical and mental well-being and as a complement to academics." It's all about the outdoors, nature, and having fun! Whether it be hiking, camping, climbing, backpacking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, stargazing, bicycling, or even apple picking, the Outing Club offers something for everyone at Clark. We've also hosted or co-hosted outdoor adventure films and slideshows, environmental conferences and presentations, and local waterway cleanups. During the fall semester, the Outing Club and Office of Student Leadership and Programming co-sponsor the Clark Nature Connection series of Sunday afternoon hikes; designed to offer easy access to the green spaces of Central Massachusetts. These hikes are included along with all other Outing Club events in our upcoming events listing. New England is chock full of great outdoor destinations, and we go find them. Our quests range from short, afternoon or evening outings to multi-day camping, backpacking, and adventure trips. All Outing Club members are invited to help plan these events at our weekly club meetings. Our email list is open to the entire Clark community. To subscribe, drop us a note at outingclub@clarku.edu. You'll receive meeting notices, news about upcoming trips, and more. We typically send 1-3 messages per week during the academic year, and update our web site regularly. We are an undergraduate club funded through Clark's undergraduate student activities fee. Extra spaces on club trips may be available to others in the Clark community. Outing Club in the news
