(See this page for a list of current council members)
The students of Clark University hereby establish a Clark Undergraduate Student Council (CUSC), an entity which empowers students to co-ordinate activities and effect change within their university. The CUSC shall ensure a vital and active forum for students to rally support for their causes, activities and organizations; to voice discontent; and to mediate satisfying and beneficial solutions to the concerns of all Clark undergraduates. The CUSC shall be entrusted with the power to charter, fund, and co-ordinate the activities of student organizations.
Introduction:
The Clark Undergraduate Student Council is comprised of three branches. The Executive Board and the Representative Council are elected from and by the undergraduate student body to represent the undergraduate population to the council as a whole and to the administration and faculty. Judiciary Committee members are appointed from the undergraduate student body by the Elections Committee, the CUSC President, and a super-majority vote of the CUSC. The CUSC is charged by the Trustees of Clark University as caretakers for the Student Activities Fee in its entirety. The CUSC is responsible for supporting the undergraduate student body by providing funds to all recognized student clubs and student initiatives. The CUSC is also responsible for representing the student body in the form of binding and non-binding legislature, resolutions, and formal correspondence with the administration.
Constitution and Bylaws:
The constitution of the Clark Undergraduate Student Council was drafted and ratified in 1910 and outlines the purpose of the CUSC and its guiding principles. The Bylaws of the Clark Undergraduate Student Council Constitution further define and regulate the CUSC and other student organizations in order to properly carry out the powers outlined in the Constitution. The bylaws are the internal procedures of the CUSC and how it works with other clubs and organizations. Our legislation as a whole then is the basis of our operations, and determines a lot of what we must do for our constituents. Hence, it is a document that all students should be aware of and read, as it may answer many of your questions about our role on campus.

Composition:
Executive Board:
The Executive Board is made up of the President and three voting members; Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer who are elected from and by the undergraduate student body. These four individuals are responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the CUSC, and implementing and communicating all legislation and decisions created by the CUSC in addition to their individual responsibilities. Executive Board members will serve as the advisor to the internal CUSC standing committee that most relates to their position.
Representative Council:
The Representative Council is made up of voting members elected from and by the undergraduate student body. Representatives are responsible for communicating with and representing their constituents and acting in the best interest of the student body as a whole. Each Representative must serve on at least one internal CUSC standing committee. The Representative council creates, maintains, updates, and votes on all forms of legislation.
Judiciary Committee:
The Judiciary Committee is made up of five non-voting members and two alternates appointed from the undergraduate student body by an act of the CUSC. The Judiciary Committee is responsible for ensuring the CUSC operates in a manner consistent with the CUSC Constitution, Bylaws, and all other governing documents. They have jurisdiction only on matters pertaining to the student body and the CUSC.
Standing Committees
Grants Committee:
The Grants Committee is responsible for recommending all allocations from the Special Projects Fund, the Activism Fund, and the Equipment Fund. Unlike the other committees, save for the Grants Committee Chair, the membership of this Committee is made up of non-CUSC appointed full-time undergraduate students. The Grants Committee is committed to ensuring recognized student organizations and student initiatives receive funding and has resources to help clubs and students utilize all the resources on and off campus.
