Dialing Information
Local Dialing:
Each telephone can provide unlimited local calling for on-campus calls by dialing the 4 digit extension and for off-campus calls by dialing 9 + 1 + area code + number.
Local calling consists of the following areas:
Auburn, Boylston, Grafton, Holden, Leicester, Millbury, Northboro, Oakham, Oxford, Rutland, Shrewsbury, Spencer, West Boylston, Westboro, Worcester. Also included is Area Code 978 Clinton, Sterling. Contact Telecommunications for actual exchanges.
Long Distance:
Each student is given a personal authorization code that enables them to make long distance calls.
The sequence for dialing these calls using your authorization number is:
16 + authorization code + 9 + 1 + area code + number.
For International calls the sequence for dialing is as follows:
16 + authorization code + 9 + 011 + country code + city code + number
Information calls
Long distance and 1-800 Information calls can be placed by dialing:
16 + authorization code + 9 + 1 + area code + 555-1212
16 + authorization code + 9 + 1 + 800 -555-1212
Each long distance information call costs .99¢
Local information calls can be placed by dialing:
16 + authorization code + 9 + 411

Billing Information
Each student is given an authorization code to use for long distance calls. If your code is lost or stolen you must report it immediately to the Telecommunications Office.
Do not give your code to anyone else since you will be responsible for all the calls billed to your code number.
Phone bills are posted to the web at the beginning of each month and are payable upon receipt. Bills not paid by the 25th of the month will be charged a $10.00 late fee and your authorization code will be deactivated. Click the I - Billing link below to access Web Billing.
