Gwen Arthur became Clark’s University Librarian in 1999, after working in reference and public services at academic libraries, both large and small.  Her professional and publishing interests include social sciences reference literature; library administration; and staff training and professional development.  In 2005, she served as President of the national Reference and User Services Association.  Since arriving at Clark, she has worked collaboratively with Clark faculty, staff, and administrators to transform the Library into the Academic Commons, a 21st-century space for collections, technology, study, and learning.
