Renewals
Books may be renewed up to 3 times if they are not requested by another borrower.
Books may be renewed by bringing them to the Library, over the phone or from the Voyager
online library system. Items recalled by another patron and those so overdue that the System
lists them as LOST cannot be renewed. They must be returned to the Library.
Holds and Recalls
If a book is charged out to another patron and that patron has had the book for at least 10
days, you may RECALL the book for your own use. The person who has the book will be sent a
notice requesting them to return it within 10 days. The book will be held at the Circulation
Desk and you will be notified when the book is returned. If a HOLD is placed on a book, the
book will be held for you when it is returned but the borrower will not be sent a notice requesting
that the book be returned (use this when you are not in a hurry to get the book).
Overdues/Lost Books
Overdue notices are sent as a courtesy to remind patrons of the due dates. The Library does
not assume responsibility for the non-receipt of notices. Failure to receive an overdue notice
does not absolve patrons from returning materials late. An overdue notice is sent approximately
7 days after the due date. 28 days after the due date the book is marked as LOST. There are
no daily fines but once the book is marked as LOST a nonrefundable charge of $5.00 is charged
to your account. The replacement fee of $50.00 or the actual cost of
replacement of the book, whichever is greater, plus the $5.00 late fee for each
book is then sent to Student Accounts. At this point you will not be able to register for classes or
obtain transcripts until the books have been returned and the bill paid.
