Concentration in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies

Use the lenses of race and ethnicity to broaden your perspective on the world

As a student in the comparative race and ethnic studies concentration, you will explore the ways race and ethnicity have been, and continue to be, powerful social and political forces in the United States and across the globe. You examine how race and ethnicity intersect with other structures of identity formation, such as class, gender, sexuality, nationality and legal status. The concentration also allows you to compare U.S. experiences with those of other racially and ethnically diverse countries around the world, both past and present.
