The May Term in Luxembourg
The May Term is offered by The Leir Luxembourg Program - Clark University (LLP-CU) 28-day Intensive Program. Rather than a semester or year-long program, students can enroll in one of three courses offered by Professors from Clark and The College of the Holy Cross. All courses are taught in English.
For extensive details about this program, including video interviews with participants, photographs, application forms, and information about Luxembourg, please visit the May Term home page. Below is a brief summary of the program.
The May Term offers students a unique opportunity to "test the waters," so to speak, of study abroad programs. Running from mid-May through mid-June each year, it offers those not sure of whether they want to spend a longer period abroad, or those who know they can only spend a short time abroad, the opportunity to study and travel in Europe for a month. Our exchange programs in Trier and Dijon are within easy travel distance and can be checked out for a possible future stay.
Generally, each May Term offers three full credit courses. Students choose one of these (most of which also fulfill Clark perspective requirements). Along with students from the College of the Holy Cross, and several other Institutions, Clark students are instructed by professors from both Clark and Holy Cross in English for 28 days in courses that are geared to the immediate area (Luxembourg, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands). Aside from the classroom requirements of the course, students participate in relevant field trips. Weekends are class-free days. Luxembourg is an ideal environment in which to practice and be exposed to German and French.
Due to the specific character of this program, all students are eligible, and do not necessarily need a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
