Office of Study Abroad and Study Away Programs

Dear Clark Faculty/Staff Member,

Thank you for visiting these pages and for your support of study abroad at Clark University. As you may already know, study abroad is part of the LEEP Center which is designed to support and inspire Clark students and connect them with the people, opportunites and resources they need to thrive at - and beyond - Clark. Our role in the study abroad office is to inform and support the 'beyond' portion of the students' liberal education and, in many cases, to direct them to opportunities to put that education into effective practice while abroad. We work closely with Clark faculty to help the students coordinate their academic plan and goals abroad with the specific requirements of their major and the broader University academic requirements. We work closely with the staff to help facilitate smooth logisitcal transitions (including health and safety, grades, housing, and billing) for the students leaving and returning to the Clark home campus.

As you puruse our website, please let us know if we can do anything to help ease this sometimes complicated process. We welcome your ideas. Also, please contact us if we can provide additional tools for you in advising students or in the classroom.

Sincerely,

Adriane van Gils-Pierce, Director
Constance Whitehead Hanks, Associate Director
