Office of Study Abroad and Study Away Programs

After Submitting Your Study Abroad Application

Approval from Clark: Upon submission and positive review of your completed application, the Study Abroad Office will notify you of your Clark Approval for Study Abroad Participation. You must submit to the Study Abroad Office an Agreement of Participation to confirm that you are committed to going abroad for the approved semester on the approved program.

Admission to the Program: You will receive a separate decision letter regarding your official admission directly from the college or university abroad, or your program provider. Notification may be in the form of a hard copy letter, email, or online application account notification. It is your responsibility to respond to the notification in a timely manner. It is recommended that you respond as soon as possible. Do not wait for deadlines.

Acceptance: After submitting your acceptance to the program, you will receive additional information from your host institution. Please read all correspondence and handbooks carefully as they will contain critical information regarding your housing, arrival, course registration, obtaining a visa, what to pack, and other essential instructions. Again, there will be additional forms to complete for the overseas institution/program provider which should be submitted as soon as possible. Housing forms, in particular, should be submitted soon as housing is often allocated on a first come/first served basis.

Orientations: In addition, all study abroad participants are required to attend pre-departure orientations.  This includes a general orientation meeting and a program-specific or country-specific orientation. Some universities and programs providers provide online Skype pre-departure and on-site orientations.

Additional Information: Student Study Abroad Ambassadors are available to answer your questions. If your program does not have an ambassador, please contact the Study Abroad Office for assistance.

Please share all information with your parents or guardians.
