Photos of documentary photographer Nubar Alexanian on display

Clark is hosting "Nubar Alexanian; photographs from the film sets of Errol Morris" from Thursday, September 25 through Friday, November 14 at the Schiltkamp Gallery, Traina Center for the Arts, 92 Downing Street, Worcester. The exhibit opens on Thursday, September 25, from 5-7 p.m., with an artist talk at 4:30 p.m.

Coinciding with the publication of his fifth book, "NONFICTION" (Walker Creek Press; March 2008) the Schiltkamp Gallery will exhibit the photos of documentary photographer Nubar Alexanian featuring the film sets of award-winning filmmaker Errol Morris. Over the course of 15 years, Alexanian created still images used in and from several films, including "Fast, Cheap and Out of Control" (1997), "Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr." (1999); Morris' "First Person" series; and his latest film, "Standard Operating Procedure" (2008), about the now-famous photographs of torture and abuse at Abu Ghraib.

Alexanian is a Fulbright Fellow documentary photographer who has photographed in more than 30 countries over the last 25 years focusing on long term personal projects. His work has been featured in The New York Times Magazine, Life, National Geographic, and The London Sunday Times, as well as in his five published books. His work is exhibited and collected internationally.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, and Noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
