Climate Action Rally at Elm Park April 14

Clark U students, faculty speaker to participate in national observance

Worcester, Mass.
- Saturday, April 14, is National Day of Climate Action, a grassroots plan for more than 600 "Step-it-Up" rallies and protest demonstrations across the United States. Events are designed to raise awareness and to advocate policy changes that would help reduce carbon emissions.

Clark students have established a Clark Step-it-Up organization and are helping to organize the Worcester Step-it-Up Climate Rally, which will take place at noon at Elm Park, between Highland Street and Park Avenue.

Clark first-year student Ashley Trull is organizing the campus community. Jennie Stephens, Assistant Professor of Environmental Science and Policy at Clark's Department of International Development, Community, and Environment, is among the invited speakers at the Worcester Step-it-Up Climate Rally. Other invited speakers include Tim Murray, Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor and former mayor of Worcester; Barbara Haller, Worcester City Council member; and Peggy Middaugh, Executive Director of the Worcester Regional Environmental Council.
