Join in National Conversation on Climate Action

Mayor Konnie Lukes and Clark University invite Worcester Community to forum and film screening Oct. 4

Worcester, Mass. - Mayor Konstantina B. Lukes and Clark University President John Bassett invite members of the Worcester community to participate in a National Conversation on Climate Action, beginning at 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, in Tilton Hall, Higgins University Center, 950 Main Street.

The National Conversation is designed to highlight and catalyze local efforts to address global warming, build local awareness and facilitate community engagement. Government leaders from across the country will host similar events that will be part education and part interactive discussion. The National Conversation is sponsored by ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability, Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and the Association of Science-Technology Centers.

The program at Clark will include a panel presentation by Rob Pratt, of the Cambridge Energy Alliance, and Frank Gorke, of Environment Massachusetts, at 4 p.m. A panel discussion with local environmental leaders will follow the presentations.

Stephen Nodvin, of The Climate Project, will host a discussion and screening of an updated version of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth," at 7 p.m. in the Johnson Auditorium, Sackler Science Center.
