Global Scholar Program Participation Requirements
Meetings
The policy states that there will be four (4) meetings per semester. The student is allowed one excused absence per semester. Should a Global Scholar miss a mandatory meeting they will be required to meet with Linda Winslow no more than three (3) school days after the missed meeting. Linda will review what the Global Scholar missed.
Community Service
Each Global Scholar is required to complete five (5) hours of community service, per academic year. The type of volunteer service is up to the individual Global Scholar. If you need assistance with ideas for community service, Amy Daly or Linda Winslow would be happy to make some suggestions. Your community service must be independent from any community service you are required to do for your sports team or academic class unless it is above and beyond the Global Scholar requirement (example: you are required to complete 4 hours of community service for a class and you complete 9 hours). Your Global Scholar volunteer requirements must be completed no later than April 15th of each academic year.
Minimum GPA
Global Scholars are expected to maintain both an annual GPA of at least a 3.0. Failure to do so may result in a decrease or loss of Global Scholar scholarship.
If any of the above requirements are not met, the Global Scholar may be placed on probation and/or have a reduction or loss of scholarship.
