Supported Operating Systems
As of October 29, 2014, OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) is able to pass campus registration for access to ClarkNet/Wi-Fi. As of the moment we do not fully support OSX 10.10 while we continue to test software applications to certify OSX 10.10 at Clark.
ITS currently supports Apple OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9 in addition to Microsoft Windows Vista, 7, and 8. As of April 8th, Clark’s network registration system will no longer allow computers running OS X 10.5 or Windows XP to successfully pass the registration process. ITS recommends that people with OS X 10.5 and Windows XP migrate to a newer operating system version for better security and support from Apple and Microsoft respectively. We update our minimum and recommended specifications page regularly for incoming students as well as for faculty and staff looking to buy a new computer for personal use. ITS has expanded hardware vendor partnerships to include Hewlett-Packard (HP) in addition to Apple and Lenovo. These partnerships help us to leverage heavily discounted prices on systems that match our hardware configuration recommendations and standards for personal purchases. If you are shopping for a new computer, we urge you to check these configurations and pricing before you make your purchase.
