File Storage

Get Connected to Your Personal File Share

There are several methods to connect to your personal file share which are slightly different for students versus faculty and staff.

Direct Access

With direct access, your personal file share becomes available as an additional drive on your computer and this happens automatically when you login to a computer with your Clark Account.

  • Students: When you are logged in, with your Clark Account, to a Windows computer that is a member of the domain (such as those in administrative offices or computer labs), your personal file share will map automatically as the "S:/" drive.

  • Faculty/Staff: When you are logged in, with your Clark Account, to a Windows computer that is a member of the domain (such as those in administrative or faculty offices or teaching clusters), your personal file share will map automatically as the "M:/" drive.

If the S:/ or M:/ drive does not map automatically, use one of the other connection methods or contact the Help Desk for assistance.

Mapping a Drive on Macintosh OS X Computer

Mac users on OS X computers on campus can "mount a share" which is very similar to the direct access drive provided to Windows computers.

FTP Client

FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is a universal method for connecting to your personal file storage. It works with Windows or Machintosh machines and from both on- and off-campus.
