October is Cyber Security Awareness Month

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and we aim to increase the Clark community's awareness of need to protect against the criminal or unauthorized use of electronic data. Starting October 6, ITS will provide weekly articles in the Campus Digest that include useful information and tips to help you prevent a cyber-incident and increase your resiliency should anything happen to you.

Supported Operating Systems

ITS currently supports Apple OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9 in addition to Microsoft Windows Vista, 7, and 8. As of April 8th, Clark’s network registration system will no longer allow computers running OS X 10.5 or Windows XP to successfully pass the registration process. ITS recommends that people with OS X 10.5 and Windows XP migrate to a newer operating system version for better security and support from Apple and Microsoft respectively. If you would like more information about software manufacturers' product lifecycles to see how they impact you and Clark, please visit:

ITS Web Help Desk

ITS has a Help Desk web site for help requests via our Help Desk ticketing system. You have the ability to log into Web Help Desk and create your own request for help at: For more information, along with instructional videos, please visit:

Hardware Recommendations

We update our minimum and recommended specifications page regularly for incoming students as well as for faculty and staff looking to buy a new computer for personal use. ITS has expanded hardware vendor partnerships to include Hewlett-Packard (HP) in addition to Apple and Lenovo. These partnerships help us to leverage heavily discounted prices on systems that match our hardware configuration recommendations and standards for personal purchases. If you are shopping for a new computer, we urge you to check these configurations and pricing before you make your purchase.
