Director of Content Marketing
Clark University invites nominations from potential candidates for the position of Director of Content Marketing in the Marketing and Communications department. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Working in close collaboration with colleagues in University Marketing and Communications and ITS, this is a hands-on position with primary responsibility for creating and curating adaptive and sharable content that can be centrally managed and delivered through various and evolving sets of media. S/he is responsible for the development and implementation of a digital content strategy that integrates website, social media, e-mail campaigns, online banner and search advertising with print and face-to-face communications to raise the visibility of Clark University and inspire connection and community with prospective and current students, parents, alumni, educators, and donors.
The Director of Content Marketing directs the University’s web and social media resources to build and enhance Clark’s online presence to meet the marketing goals and needs of the undergraduate and graduate schools, academic departments, research centers and institutes.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, English, or journalism; other qualifications include: 8 – 10 years’ experience in multichannel content development, web management, social and new media, preferably with some exposure to higher education; demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with a high degree of relevancy to targeted audiences; highly competent in writing, editing, and creative direction; strategic thinker with ability to drive measurable results and manage multiple projects for several key constituencies in a complex, and often demanding, environment; hands-on experience and solid understanding of web design and development, information architecture, multimedia production, and web content management and distribution; and experienced people manager and mentor with strong project management skills and ability to meet schedules and objectives.
