| About Room Rates |

||||
Why do room rates differ from Fall Semester to Spring Semester?Have you ever stayed in a great hotel for a discounted nightly rate? Have you ever purchased something at a great sale price? These great deals occur when increases in supply outpace demand. This occurs in our housing as well. Each year, during the Fall Semester, Clark University's housing occupancy rates are higher than during the Spring Semester. In the spring many students go abroad, some leave for other reasons, and some will aspire to move off campus (and submit appeals to try to do so). The goal of reducing the spring semester rates is to encourage students to move or stay on-campus during the spring when occupancy rates are lower. This also allows for students on campus to possibly relocate to a more expensive room for little or no more than the cost of their fall room. Think of the Spring Semester as one big sale on Clark University housing! For any questions or concerns, please email Kevin Forti, Director of Residential Life and Housing. |
