Residential Life and Housing

Applying For Housing

New First Year and Transfer students will be invited to submit their Fall Housing Applications online through the Welcome Portal beginning in May. Students must have their Clark Credentials to login and submit the housing and meal preference forms.

Arriving on campus

First-year and Transfer Students

Residence Halls will open for first-year and transfer students at 9:00AM on Thursday, Aug. 21. Students moving in on that date should enter the campus via Woodland Street (Formerly Downing Street) from Main Street. Once on Woodland Street, University staff will be on hand to direct your vehicle based on which residence hall you are living in. Please have your residence hall name and room number handy.

Live 500+ miles from campus?

First-year students who live 500 or more miles from Clark and who are not coming for a pre-orientation program may request permission to arrive on campus a day early on Wednesday, Aug. 21. To request permission, please login to your My Housing account by August 1st. Requests received after August 1 will result in a $25.00 late application fee. For students receiving permission, residence halls will open at noon on August 20th. Please pick up your key at the Residential Life and Housing Office located at 151 Woodland Street (Formerly 22 Downing Street). Students who arrive after 5:00PM can collect their key and ID card from the University Police station located in Bullock Hall.

Participating in an early orientation program?

If you are participating in an early orientation program (Connections, ACE, International Orientation, etc.), you should contact your program directly to determine your arrival time.

For students who like to plan ahead, please note that residence halls close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 for winter break, and reopen for the spring semester at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015. Students needing to leave late or arrive before these times may request extensions to their contract for up to 72 hours early. The fee to do so is $25 per day if requested more than 2 weeks in advance. The rate increases if your wait longer (see housing contract for details). Residence halls close at noon on May 6, 2015 for summer break.
