Overview

Thank you for volunteering to be a mentor to a Clark University student. As a mentor, you will be paired with one of twenty Clark students that have been selected based on mutual professional and civic interests. You will meet with your mentee over a four month period to provide support in career development, civic engagement, networking, and other assistance as determined between the mentor and student.

Mentor Responsibilities

Mentors in this program are required to attend program events, including the Kickoff Reception and Closing Reception. We ask that you provide the following opportunities for your student Mentee:

  • Attend 2 networking events with your Mentee
    (conference, business meeting, Worcester Regional Chamber event, etc)

  • Attend a civic activity with your Mentee (volunteer, fundraiser, etc)

  • Hold a mock career interview

  • Schedule a Job Shadow Day for your Mentee

  • Provide career development feedback
Additionally, if there are any issues with the Mentor relationship, notify us immediately.

Program Timeline

Application    
September/October  
  • Mentors complete the online Mentor Profile
  • Students are invited to apply to the program
November  
  • Mentor Profiles and Student Applications due November 1st
  • Mentors and students are matched and notified of their matches
  • Student survey is distributed
  • Tips for mentoring relationship is distributed
December  
  • Surveys are due by December 16th
     
Mentoring Activities    
January  
  • Kick-off reception, January 23, 2008
     
February to April  

  • Attend 2 networking events
