(Visual and Performing Arts Department)

The music major is designed to teach students to listen to music intelligently, develop musical perception, master basic skills of music and apply them creatively, and acquaint students with representative works from various periods of music history. The program stresses the advantages of combining professional musical development with the humanistic breadth offered by a strong liberal arts education.
