William Shakespeare began writing plays in the late 1580s and wrote his last one just a few years before his death in 1616. More than 400 years later, scholars are still finding new ways to discuss his work and its relevance. Tomorrow — Saturday, April 27 — a group of undergraduate students will add to that ever-growing body of knowledge when they present their scholarship at the 18th Undergraduate Shakespeare Conference, being held at Clark for the first time since its inception in 2002.

Twice a year, the Clark community comes together to celebrate the work of undergraduate student scholars. Tomorrow — Wednesday, April 24 — more than 100 students will showcase their research and creative work at ClarkFEST, a campuswide event featuring presentations, interactive media, and poster displays. The research topics are wide-ranging — from a look at the philosophy of memes to a study of the use of parasitoid wasps as pest control in organic farming; from an exploration of urban green space to an examination of how COVID-19 affected soccer players’ market value. ➡️ https://bit.ly/3Jst3sl #ClarkU #ClarkFEST

A group of Clark students have received a $10,000 Projects for Peace award to create a documentary film chronicling the experiences of young people in Central Mexico as they deal with the impacts and uncertainty of climate change. Part of a major Clark research study, the students plan to reveal the human stories behind the environmental, economic, and social consequences of the region’s disappearing water supply. ➡️ https://bit.ly/4bkF7rB #ClarkU

Sometimes, simple things have a profound impact. For Becker School of Design & Technology Professor Ilir Mborja, MFA, a pencil doodle made as a toddler sparked a lifelong fascination with art. Through each phase of his life, Mborja has been determined to master new mediums — including digital 3D art, which he now teaches at Clark. “As an artist, you either get intimidated or get inspired,” he says. “In this field, you need to extend your branches and explore as much as you can." ➡️ https://bit.ly/3JlUwvt

The setting was Worcester’s venerable BrickBox Theater, but the Clark University student entrepreneurs who pitched their businesses in the April 2 WooTank Intercollegiate Showdown took every opportunity to step outside the box. Their efforts paid off — literally — when they came away with the night’s top honors and largest cash awards. 🏆💰💵 Sophie Lee ’26 (pictured below), who was the only woman in the competition, received the largest individual award of the night; Owen Chase ’26 was a close second. “They both just blew it out of the water,” said Teresa Quinn, director of Clark's Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program. ➡️ https://bit.ly/4aMORKA
