Huang, Roberts and Gale participate in NEPCA conference

The Northeast Popular Culture Association (NEPCA) annual meeting was held at Clark on Oct. 26 and 27. English professor Betsy Huang chaired a panel on "Teaching." Education professor Heather Roberts participated on a panel about "Uncanny Homes: The Domestic Space in Gothic and Horror Literature and Film." And foreign languages and literatures professor Beth Gale chaired a panel on "Queer Visibility." Former Clark screen studies professor Tim Shary was the conference co-chair.

NEPCA is a regional affiliate of the American Culture Association and the Popular Culture Association. NEPCA is an association of scholars in New England and New York, organized in 1974 at the University of Rhode Island. The purpose of this professional association is to encourage and assist research, publication and teaching on popular culture and culture studies topics by scholars in the northeast region of the United States. By bringing together scholars from various disciplines, both academic and nonacademic people, NEPCA fosters interdisciplinary research and learning.
