Clark MBA Curriculum
Number of Courses
A total of 16 course units is required to complete the
MBA degree. Many of the courses offered are full-semester courses (14 weeks .
1.0 course unit each), while others are half-semester courses (7 weeks . 0.5
course unit each). Taking two half-semester courses is equivalent to taking
one full-semester course. Half-semester courses start either at the beginning
or in the middle of the semester.
Core Curriculum
Concentrations
You will take up to four course units in your chosen area of concentration.
The areas of concentration are Accounting, Finance, Global Business,
Management Information System, General Management,
and Marketing. Students may also
select two concentrations or prepare for the CPA examination by completing
additional course work.
Open Electives
By choosing elective courses from areas outside your concentration, you will
add to the broad nature of your MBA studies. These advanced topics courses
provide a deeper understanding of the subjects chosen and build upon the
concepts presented in the core curriculum.
Capstone Experience
As you near the fulfillment of your degree
requirements, you will complete 1 unit professional capstone experience designed to
synthesize your MBA studies. Each semester a number of capstone courses are
offered. Examples include Management Consulting Projects, Entrepreneurship, and
the Global Business Seminar.
Professional Internship
Full-time students with less than three
years of professional experience in the United States will complete an
internship as part of their MBA degree. This experience will build your resume,
strengthen your professional skills, and allow you to apply the concepts learned
in your MBA course work. The Career Services Office will assist you in
preparing for and securing internship positions.
