MBA with a concentration in
HEALTH CARE

Health Care with a Strong Management Foundation

Doctor

A revolution in health care management. Over the past decade, the U.S. has undergone what can only be described as a revolution in the way medicine is practiced and financed. Health care organizations, most notably hospitals, are cutting costs, reducing staffs and rethinking inefficient processes. Many have diversified, too, by expanding their services and creating integrated health care systems. Like all U.S. businesses, health care organizations are decentralizing and retooling themselves into flatter, more efficient organizations. Implementing systemic changes such as these clearly requires confidence in the management disciplines and knowledge of health care policies, finances and organizations.

Clark's MBA with a Health Care concentration prepares students to manage and lead in this changing environment by combining the solid management education of the MBA with Clark’s 17-year history of offering the Master of Health Administration. This degree program is further enhanced by its students, who represent a broad spectrum of health care personnel, including nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals, and by its faculty who are distinguished researchers, instructors and practitioners.

Strong ties with area health care institutions. Through Clark’s affiliation with health care institutions in Worcester and the surrounding area, students complete on-site projects in highly regarded health care organizations such as Fallon Community Health Plan, the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and numerous other hospitals, health maintenance organizations, health centers, and government agencies.

The outstanding faculty, the long history of health administration education, the student experience, and the access to a wide array of health care providers in Massachusetts all combine to make the MBA with a health care concentration at Clark University one of the area’s strongest programs in progressive health services management.
