Professional & Academic Experience

Roberta Pittore is a lecturer at MIT's Sloan School of Management where she teaches Communication courses and a workshop in Negotiation. Her international teaching includes guest lectures at the Lisbon MBA program and she was the faculty for the MBA student trip to South Korea in March 2009. For more than a decade she taught at Babson College where she was coordinator for the One Year MBA program speech stream. She has also taught at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

Ms. Pittore’s teaching focuses on communication as it influences teamwork, perceptions of leadership, and decision making in organizations. She is interested in the design and analysis of persuasive messages and in using negotiation techniques to foster business decisions. Prior to teaching, Ms. Pittore spent more than 20 years in the corporate sector where her work included communication consulting, executive training, and seven years as a stockbroker for E.F. Hutton and later Prudential Bache Securities where she was an associate vice president.
