As part of preparation for graduation, all students must complete the online Application for Degree. Submitting this form by the deadline indicated below is important, since we use it to confirm your status, your degree, and (very important!) how you want your name to appear on your diploma. If for any reason you do not complete your degree requirements in the semester you first indicate, please contact the Registrar's Office.

To complete the form:

1. Log on to CUWEB using your Clark credentials (www.clarku.edu go to ClarkYOU LOGIN)
2. In CUWEB, click on Main Menu
3. Click on the Registrar's Office, Student Accounts and Financial Aid link
4. Click on Student Records
5. Click on Application for Degree
6. Read and follow the instructions carefully

If you have any questions or problems when filling out the form, please contact the Registrar's Office at 508-793-7426.

Graduate degrees are conferred three times during the academic year (October, February, and May). Students who receive their degrees in October and February and those enrolled for the spring semester who submit their manuscript to the Graduate School Office by the April 1 deadline will be eligible to participate in Commencement in May. Commencement-related information will be emailed to students' Clark Accounts in mid-February.

The deadlines for manuscript submissions to the Graduate School Office are indicated below. Individual departments may have earlier deadlines for completion, so be sure to check with your department assistant.

Your student account will be charged $100 (master's degree) or $150 (doctoral degree) in the semester of graduation you indicate approximately 2-3 weeks following the application deadline. The fee covers all costs related to the granting of your graduate degree, including library expenses, copying, doctoral hood, and copyrighting the approved doctoral dissertation. This fee is required of all graduate students, including those in alternative (nonthesis) programs.

This is a one-time only fee (per degree). Your account will be charged only once for this fee, regardless of the semester you graduate. Your diploma will not be released until payment is received. Payment may be made online through your web account using electronic funds transfer drawn on a U.S. bank or by check made out to Clark University and sent to the Clark University Cashier's Office.
