Grant is a 2009 undergraduate Biology major who is also enrolled in the fifth-year masters program for 2010. He has been working in the Robertson lab since fall 2008 on the project role of alpha-ketoglutarate in the regulation of nitrogen assimilation. This project has consisted of first developing an assay to detect alpha-ketoglutarate and will then extend to analyzing data from samples to attempt to determine its impact on diatoms under a variety of conditions. Grant has a wide interest in the many fields of biology. He is currently following a pre-medical curriculum and will hopefully gain entrance into medical school following the masters program. At Clark University Grant is a member of the Clark Ice Hockey Team, ISA, and Gryphon and Pleiades.
