Prevention of depression in Latino parents

This grant is funding an effort to evaluate the efficacy of the Family Coping Skills Program (FCSP) to prevent depression in low-income Latina mothers.

The project is a randomized-controlled trial in which the FCSP will be compared with standard bibliographic information regarding depression.


A longitudinal exploration of depressive symptoms in Caucasian, African American, and Hispanic children.

This grant is funding a school-based project whose aim is to investigate the effects of race/ethnicity and culture on the development and expression of depressive symptoms.

In this project, middle-school aged children from various racial/ethnic backgrounds will complete a variety of self-report measures over two years.
