Lund Community Achievement Award 2010
Clark University President David Angel presented the 2010 John W. Lund Community Achievement Award to two outstanding members of the Clark community.
The recipients are University Police Chief Stephen Goulet and senior and Sociology Major Miranda Muro. Ms. Muro, of Bolton, Conn., was honored for her work at Main South CDC, the Main South Festival in both 2009 and 2010, the city councilelections in 2009, and on issues of homelessness and housing.
Lund Community Achievement Award 2009
Recent Clark University graduates Joshua Cohen and Erin Burns-Main were presented with the John W Lund Community Achievement Award by President John Bassett. Burns-Main graduated from Clark University in May 2008 with a degree in Sociology and Urban Development and Social Change and in August 2009, with a M.A. in Community Development and Planning through Clark's "5th-Year-Free" accelerated degrees program. As an undergraduate student, she served as treasurer of Community Action Reform Education (CARE), worked as an intern at the Central Mass. Housing Alliance, was a Sociology Department research assistant, and volunteered at the Francis Perkins Shelter and the People in Peril (PIP) Shelter. She also spent a semester studying abroad at the Center for Global Education in Namibia.

Devon Grayson-Wallace was chosen to be the 2012 recipient of this award - Congratulations! Amy Donin and Miranda Muro were chosen to be the 2011 recipients of this award.

Kiri Cook '08 receives Gerontology Studies Program Honors
Cook received a certificate in Gerontology, augmenting her scholarship by
completing the Consortium Gerontology Studies Program.
She received both the Sol Boskind and Student Ambassador awards for her
outstanding participation in the program.
She was among nine graduates to complete the interdisciplinary program.
She presented at Academic Spree Day her capstone paper on traditional gender
roles and older men's vulnerability and states, "Finishing the program, I truly
feel that I am prepared to serve the older population." Cook plans to
pursue a Master's in Public Administration through Clark's accelerated B.A./M.A.
program.
