Current Research Interests
Jayson earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Geography at Clark University in 2011. His research interests center on international political economy in relation to global finance, international development, and climate change. More specifically his research examines processes of financialization, global governance, socio-technical system transitions, and international institution building. Jayson's recent and ongoing projects include: 1) the role of global governance institutions (particularly the International Finance Corporation, an affiliate of the World Bank) in institutionalizing social and environmental performance standards; 2) global governance-based institution building and transnational financialization; and 3) multi-scalar socio-technical financial configurations arising in response to financial and economic crises and global climate change.
