Rasigan Maharajh, Visiting Scholar
Current Research Interests
Rasigan Maharajh (PhD) is an Associate Research Fellow of the Tellus Institute and a Visiting Scholar at the George Perkins Marsh Institute (GPMI) of Clark University. He is also the founding Chief Director of the Institute for Economic Research on Innovation in the Faculty of Economics and Finance at Tshwane University of Technology, where his research has focused on critiquing the political economy, innovation systems and public policies in the context of the global knowledge commons, economic development, social cohesion, and democratic governance.
Rasigan is an active member of the Global Network for the Economics of Learning, Innovation and Competence-building Systems (Globelics) and serves on the Scientific Board for the Africa Region (AfricaLICS). He is a member of the Steering Group of the South Africa Forum for International Solidarity, the Interim Coordinator of the Campaign to Advance a Global Citizens Movement for a Great Transition, and a member of the National Executive Committee Subcommittee on Education of the National Education Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU).
