Dr. Ross received a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1963, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1966 and 1975, respectively. He has been at Clark since 1972. Dr. Ross directs the ISS Program and is also affiliated with the programs in Peace Studies, Urban Development and Social Change, Ethics and Public Policy, and Race and Ethnic Relations. He is author of Slaves to Fashion: Poverty and Abuse in the New Sweatshops.

Dr. Peet teaches the ISS core course IDND066: Global Society. Dr. Peet received a B.Sc. (Econ) from the London School of Economics, an M.A. from the University of British Columbia, and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. His areas of interest include: social and economic geography, political ecology, liberation ecology, development theory, geography of consciousness and rationality, philosophy and social theory, iconography, semiotics, and New England. His book Unholy Trinity: The IMF, World Bank, and WTO was published in 2003.

Professor Grier teaches IDND067: Problems of Globilization, the required follow up to Global Society. She received an M.A. and Ph.D. from Yale University. Her new book, Invisible Hands: Child Labor and the State in Colonial Zimbabwe, 1890-1965, focuses on child workers in agriculture, mining, and domestic service, and on street children.
