Dr. Schatzberg received a B.A. from St. John's College in 1954, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1957 and 1966, respectively. He has been at Clark since 1966. He is adjunct professor of Screen Studies and is affiliated with the program in Comparative Literature. He co-directs the Leir Luxembourg Program at Clark University.

Current Research and Teaching

Dr. Schatzberg teaches courses in German language, German literature and German film history. His research interests include the relations of literature and science in the Age of Goethe, the culture of the Weimer Republic, German film history and the history of German-speaking Jews from Moses Mendelssohn to the present.
