FlowerBob Sigel

Achieving success in today's marketplace, particularly in the distribution industry, requires a leader to have a holistic perspective. Robert A. (Bob) Sigel, formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of Millbrook Distribution Services, Inc. is one of the few industry leaders who have literally grown up in the business.

Millbrook Distributors was founded by Bob's father, Morton H. Sigel, in 1960. During his high school and college years, Bob had the opportunity to get down in the trenches working in the distribution center, making deliveries, and running sales routes. Along the way, he gained a first hand experience and knowledge of all aspects of the business. Mr. Sigel joined Millbrook full time after receiving a BA in economics from Bowdoin College in 1975 and an MBA in accounting and finance from Syracuse University in 1977.

Since 1977, Mr. Sigel has been a major influence in building the company from a small distributor to one of the largest service merchandisers in the United States. Millbrook, headquartered in Leicester, Massachusetts, employs over 1,300 people and distributes over 41,000 Health & Beauty Care, General Merchandise and Specialty, Natural and Ethnic Food Products from four distribution centers to over 8,000 retail stores in the United States.

Bob has held numerous and varied management positions at Millbrook including Vice President, Sales and Merchandising, and Executive Vice President. In 1986, McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK), acquired Millbrook Distributors from the Sigel Family, and added it to other acquisitions it had made as part of its Service Merchandising Division.

Bob was promoted to President and CEO of Millbrook Distributors in 1990. In January of 1994, McKesson Corporation combined Millbrook Distributors with McKesson Service Merchandising Company of Harrison, Arkansas, to form one national company. Bob was named President and CEO of the McKesson Service Merchandising division, renamed Millbrook Distribution Services, in 1994. He became a Corporate Vice President of McKesson in 1995. McKesson changed its business strategy to focus on health care related businesses, and in 1997 Bob led a leveraged buy-out of the company and became a partner in RAB Holdings, Inc., the company which purchased Millbrook from McKesson. Commencing a strategy of vertically integrating both the manufacturing and distribution of branded products, RAB Holdings began acquiring consumer brands such as the B. Manischewitz Company, the largest manufacturer of kosher food products in the United States, as well as Seasons® products, Guiltless Gourmet® natural food products, and Rokeach® kosher foods.

In November of 2007, Millbrook was acquired by United Natural Foods (NASDAQ:UNFI), the nation's largest distributor of Natural and Organic food products. In addition to continuing his role as president of Millbrook, Mr. Sigel was named an executive officer and President of Specialty Distribution for UNFI.

In March of 2008, after an illustrious 31 year career, Bob decided to retire to pursue other interests and spend more time with his family. Bob and his wife Susan have four sons and reside in Westborough, MA.
