Rachael Maingot (GISDE '2013)

Rachael Maingot (USA) received her B.S. in social sciences with minors in anthropology/geography and environmental studies from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2009. She studied abroad in Thailand and has visited Cambodia, Laos, Argentina, the United Kingdom, and France. Other than her love for travel, she also has a deep interest in understanding how some societies have fallen. Her senior project was on the Anasazi of the Southwest United States and how this community adapted to a changing environment during the Medieval Warm Period. While an undergrad, she was exposed to GIS and found to enjoy its endless possibilities. She wants to pursue a career in helping communities adapt to a changing environment and will use her GISDE degree as her foundation.
