Current Research and Teaching

Interests: Medieval and Renaissance literature; Modernism; romance genre; mythology and religion.

Teaching Philosophy: For the past 15 years, I have been teaching in both the day school and evening colleges--from English 20 (Intro to Lit & Comp) and Intro to Medieval Literature in the day school, to multidisciplinary seminars in Mythologies, the History of Witchcraft, and the Varieties of Literary Romance in the evening school. (It isn't easy being green.) As teaching is truly a performance art, I strive for an interactive classroom, giving to, and feeding off, the energy a classroom generates. To me, the most important understanding I hope my students come away with is that good, clear writing is reflective of good, clear thinking. Clark, I think, is particularly good in nurturing that kind of learning environment.
